What I will be teaching this time - or, more accurately, trying to teach and then forgetting steps and then everyone reminds me....well, you know how it goes!
Seamless Twisted Herringbone (Ndebele) Bangle
Here are some I have finished:
Here are a couple in progress that I hope to have finished when we meet:
I know I won't have the blue/purple/pink one done as it isn't very far along. But I should have the other two joined. Hopefully in a seamless manner but it just depends on whether the winds are blowing in my favor! That seamless join isn't easy!

Boo!
A safe and Beady-Eyed Halloween to you!
And some pictures left over from last week - George, Mini, Celia and myself go walking down the Bloomington walking path and came upon the Horse Crossing...
Finally I get a picture of George and Mini - all firmly held in place by Celia! It is my very good fortune that Mini, Warrior Princess, has decided not to bite George on the nose as she does every other dog she meets. George just seems bemused by Mini at this point, not sure exactly what it is!
One last picture of Fall 2011! I promise. But By George got such a beautiful picture of the trees in Brown Country State Park I couldn't let it go by. So - just one more, and last (I think) picture of the leaves this year.
Don't let the ghosties and goblins get you!

Last Fall pictures of 2011
I think this has been a beautiful fall and I think it won't last much longer. I got the overwhelming urge to post just one last group of pictures. This urge was brought on by some photos sent to me today from Photography By George!
First, Deb, and her Wonder Horse, Studly, leading the trail ride through the woods last weekend. Very good picture, By George!
A close up By George...remember this beauty when the snow starts flying!
A last look at the little Russian Sage flower that bloomed in my back yard. I am still amazed how how pretty and how very tiny these flowers are.
My backyard, it's a quiet life in a Southern Indiana Backyard. Mini, Warrior Princess, patrolling the perimeter.
The walking path behind my house. This is the path just on the other side of those trees in the picture above.
And some very good pictures from the path around the Tibetan Center - which is much more like a game trail than a path! Seriously like a game trail. Like, one deer passed through and we called it a 'path'. But beautiful. Especially if you can eventually find your way back to the road!
So I stopped and took just one more from another perspective. I just couldn't resist. And I may never be able to find my way back to this spot.
I think this will be it for the fall....it is a good thing the Beady-Eyed Bunch is going to gather soon for a late celebration of the Autumnal Equinox! Smile for the camera, Beady-Eyed Bunch!

Definitely Fall!
Out and About.....Deb and Tara roaming through the woods
Beautiful day to build a bridge!
The master builder explaining things...
And my last volunteer day at the Happy Yak gift shop at the Tibetan Center. It is located in the Cultural Center
Yes - it's really really called the Happy Yak!! See?
A few pictures from the inside of the small shop - it is open from 1- 6 p.m. 7 days a week, very unusual gifts, very nicely done with excellent prices. Come on down and do some shopping!
Our little sales desk is in the corner on the right. I am so proud I have actually learned how to use the credit card charge machine and calculate sales tax with no mistakes! There is hope, after all!
I have enjoyed my few volunteer days and have had the chance to meet many people from different cultures and countries, all delightful. I have decided not to continue on a regular basis at this time but hope to substitute from time to time.

Poor George doesn't get to go for a walk
George had paw surgery, poor guy. He has yet to get out on the walking path with the other dogs and get to sniff the DogBook messages left on trees and poles and leave his own DogBook messages. He is pretty pathetic, although with good reason!
While George is healing Mini heads back out to the path for another 3 1/2 mile hike on this beautiful day! The Fall picture of the path...
And a big stand of wild flowers growing in a ditch. I recognize the Goldenrod to the left but have no clue what the flowers might be.

Learning the macro function on my camera
Taking advantage of the beautiful Fall colors to learn how to use the macro function on this new camera. There are 4 macro functions - I don't understand them yet but so far so good.
Found a Bradford Pear Tree leaf on the ground - using macro 1. Frankly, I had never observed the pattern and colors in these leaves - I just admire the total effect on our trees in the Fall. But here it is...
Getting closer - macro 2!
The little leaf traveled to the deck to see how it looked there. It was much easier to take a picture of it on the deck railing than to hover over it in wet grass in full view of the neighbors.
Now I am sneaking up on the Russian Sage plant in my backyard....
I am not sure this is in macro - but I think it is macro 1.
This is definitely macro 2 - my lens is almost touching the little Russian Sage flower. Even with my glasses I can't see this close so I am glad to have the picture! The little flower looks like an Iris or an Orchid flower! Who knew?

George and the Greyhounds
Not the By George George but the Greyhound George!
I had the opportunity to enjoy the hospitality of a lovely local lady, Louray, who is involved in the Greyhound Rescue and adoption groups along with Celia. A wonderful dinner, wonderful conversation and beautiful home. The solarium is as beautiful as the rest of the house. Can you picture yourself sitting here, reading the morning paper, enjoying the sun or snow or rain - no matter the weather it would just be wonderful. What you can't see in this picture is a day couch....just right for taking a nap with the rain hitting the glass above you....wow.
And the lucky Greyhounds...doing what greyhounds do best I have learned....relaxing!
Former racing dogs now living the good life. From the top, clockwise.....Raisin, Flyer, and George! Raisin and Flyer are part of Louray's family, George, Celia and I were just fortunate visitors..
Raisin occupying most of the couch with Louray and not really inclined to give up any of it!
George looking just a little bit guilty as he is not allowed on the furniture at home!
