Look at his legs - he has little orange sacs on them - I think it is pollen from the lilly stamen! I enhanced the picture to try to get a little more contrast but I didn't change the color at all. I think he was looking at me and giving me some attitude!
And I am happy to report that my coneflowers now seem to be turning more purple.
